Goals
I’ve had some ideas rolling around in my head for what I’d like to accomplish in 2010, in no particular order.
- Complete the Hundred Pushups Challenge
- Knit a pair of socks
- Sew at least one garment
- Learn Continental Knitting
- Write a review of each book I read on GoodReads
- Give up caffeine
It’s not a very long and illustrious list, but it’s definitely attainable. I’ll revisit the list periodically throughout the year, reporting on my progress and maybe adding items.
I’m already making serious progress on the last item, giving up caffeine. I think this is a good time of year for it, oddly, because rather then help get me over the malaise and sleepiness of mild seasonal affective disorder-type feelings, caffeine just jangles my nerves and doesn’t make me feel good. I gave up coffee almost two years ago, which seriously cut down my consumption, but I’ve still been rather dependent on a little boost from Diet Coke and caffeinated teas. Last week I decided I would step it down day by day. After a week or so having caffeine every other day, I’m at the point where I think I can go two days without it. Then I’ll go three days, and by then I think I’ll probably be over it.
